The Team

Kanopy was created to be a full-service residential development company with the ability to help buyers in the beginning stages with lot selection to property management if desired. Led by Michael Heiderman and Fred Benoit, Kanopy has a combined 30+ years in real estate and construction.

 
 

  • Managing Partner

    Mr. Heiderman is the principal overseeing construction & day-to-day operations. Prior to founding Kanopy Homes, Mr. Heiderman established JVM Construction in 2010. Since its inception, JVM has constructed over $100m of residential homes, multi-family dwellings, medical and restaurant spaces and new construction commercial buildings in Southwest Florida. Mr. Heiderman currently resides in Naples, Florida. Michael holds a BA in communications from Villanova University.

    Mr. Benoit is the principal overseeing acquisitions and general strategy. Prior to founding Kanopy Homes, Mr. Benoit started & co-manages Benoit Properties International based in Manchester, England that has purchased/sold over $800m of properties globally. Mr. Benoit also serves as the chairman of Benoit Management based in Naples, Florida where he also resides. Fred holds a BA in economics from Kalamazoo College.
